A Prayer of Faith

Sweet Jesus, I praise Your name and I shout out with joy for Your presence in my life, and for the anointing power of Your Holy Spirit which is helping me to go deeper in Your truths and soar higher in Your power. I turn my eyes to the heavens anticipating new wisdom and deeper insights into Your sacred truths.

I praise You that more and more each day, I am becoming more confident about who I am in You -- and I praise You that the kingdom You are establishing right now on this earth cannot be shaken. My heart is flooded with joy knowing that Your surrendered ones are being used in mighty ways right now, and that Your strength and power is being made available to each and every one of them.

My prayer today begins with a cry asking You to release from bondage those Christians who are leading defeated lives. I ask You to release them from their own tunnel vision that prevents them from seeing beyond their own individual circumstances. I pray, Jesus, that with every ounce of faith they have, they will come to understand who they are in You, and begin to exert their authority over the dark places that hold them captive in the night.

Feed them, I cry, with manna from heaven that fills their hunger and sustains them on their journey to the river of life where their thirst will be filled. Feed them with Your truths so they can grow stronger and be hope-filled. Fill them with hearts of praise for what You have already done for them, so they can join the chorus of praise now being lifted up.

Jesus, help all of us, regardless of our position, to step out in faith and take our rightful places. When we come under attack, remind us how much power we have over the stings and arrows Satan fires at us. We are not helpless, we are certainly not weak, we are children of the King and His rightful heirs. Turn our hearts toward worship, praise, and thanksgiving when we start to wallow in self pity, selfishness, or pride. You have already redeemed us, and Satan will one day eat the dust of our work as he is evicted from Your eternal kingdom. Remind us every day that we do not live by bread alone -- but by every word that You have spoken. Remind us that there are multitudes of people being drawn together by Your common cause, and in Your timing they will be mobilized into the greatest fighting force the world has ever seen. Every day is an opportunity to prepare ourselves -- every day is an opportunity to focus our minds and hearts on You and Your purposes -- and every day is a day we can hear Your still small voice share its secrets with us, helping us to resist evil, and focus on truth, righteousness, and holiness.

I pray for all who pray this prayer, that they will have holy and pure motivations wherever they are presently placed in the Body of Christ. I pray that like David, they will have hearts of worship as their sword and have security knowing that our God can do all things -- that nothing is impossible with Him. I pray they will lift their hearts to You so their spirit will touch Your heart. Let Your very real Presence in their lives become clear. I acknowledge You are our safety net, our security blanket, and I thank You for all the times past when You have saved us from harm. I anticipate with a grateful heart all the victories that are about to come!

I choose today to take refuge in You. I choose to fear the Lord and not man, and I choose obedience over willfulness and submission over pride. I am blessed beyond measure already, and I praise and thank You for all You have provided, knowing that we will lack no good thing as we seek You first above all else. To You be all the honor and glory!

Scripture for Spiritual Growth

(John 3:30). For all believers who desire meaningful spiritual growth in their walk with God. There is no height you cannot attain in the spirit if only you are ready to take the bull by the horn; do away with every form of hindrance and follow the principles of spiritual growth laid down in God’s word.

(Phil. 3:10, 14). That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death … I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

(Col. 2:7). As believers, we draw our nutrients from Him, i.e. Jesus Christ. As you pray these prayer points for spiritual growth, the Holy Spirit will draw you into a deeper and fulfilling relationship with Christ.

A Prayer for Mercy

O Lord,
show your mercy to me
and gladden my heart.Spacer
I am like the man
on the way to Jericho
who was overtaken by robbers,
wounded,
and left for dead:
O Good Samaritan,
come to my aid.Spacer
I am like the sheep
that went astray:
O Good Shepherd,
seek me out and bring me home
in accord with your will.

Let me dwell in your house
all the days of my life
and praise you forever and ever.

A prayer for patience

A PRAYER FOR PATIENCE

Gracious God,

It’s so hard to wait. To wait for new things to happen in my life. To wait for you to answer my prayers. To wait for the open doors that may lead me into a new way of being. During the time of waiting, it seems that all I can think of is having what it is I am waiting for. At times I feel weary of asking and waiting, and I wonder if you really hear my prayers at all, if you are ignoring me, or if you are simply refusing to give me my heart’s desire. A part of me knows that you want my best, and that your time is not my time, but Lord, it is still so hard to wait. Deepen my trust, O Lord, during the times when my heart longs for what can only come in the fullness of time. Give me a calm assurance that your will for me is grander than anything I could ever imagine. Still my mind and heart in your love so that I am mindful of the grace you are draping around me every single day, every single moment. I ask this for the sake of your love.

A prayer of thanks

Father,

I want to use this opportunity, not to ask you for anything, but to thank you for everything. As you know, I've recently done a lot of soul searching, deep personal reflection, and taken a thorough moral inventory of my life. This process, and the subsequent personal transformation that has resulted out of it, has shown me that all roads lead to You. As much stock as I put in empirical evidence, scientific fact, logical deduction, and the pursuit of knowledge - learning how to have faith in You has been the hardest thing I've done.

As I look around the world, I truly see how blessed I am - in spite of being blind to You for the longest time. You've blessed me with the most wonderful support system in my loving family. You've answered prayers that I never prayed, but should have. You've provided for myself and my family, time and time again; a lovely home, good health, a beautiful son, a purpose and direction in life, a sound and aware mind, an ambition to not only better my life - but to help others, and so many other blessings.

For the longest time, I wanted to take credit for all of these things. Now, I feel puerile for thinking that these are my works, when clearly, they are Yours. I am your humble servant, who looks to you for guidance in all that I do. I'm using this blog to document my spiritual transformation, but more importantly to foster my relationship with You; and to start this journey - I just want to say: Thank you.

A prayer for perseverance

Father,

You bless those who revere Your name and delight in Your commands. In the midst of inner turmoil or outer conflict I will not be shaken for my heart remains steadfast trusting in You and Your overall plan for my life. I want to remain firmly grounded as I overcome the daily obstacles common to all who live on earth. Help me to learn the valuable lessons along the way as I press on toward the goal for which You have called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Amen.
